A
brief workshop series on depression (Online)
The Global Burden of Disease report of 2021 estimated that over 563 million people globally were affected by depression. While identified as the second leading cause of health loss, both directly and indirectly (through its contribution to other conditions) depression continues to be highly stigmatized and misunderstood.
This workshop series aims to assist
participants in thinking about the possible causes and treatment of depression.
The workshop series has a strong focus on principles of Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy (CBT), which is recognized as the most researched and one of the most
effective treatments for depression. The workshop is informative, collaborative
and utilizes weekly exercises to motivate and develop CBT and other coping
resources.
