What is the rate or cost for counselling?

Most psychologists in private practice charge according to medical aid rates. Edenvale Therapy’s rate of R900 for a 50 minute online session is within medical aid rates. Payment options include EFT (cash) or payment through medical aid savings.

How many sessions do I need?

Whilst a single counselling session can have some benefits, counselling is viewed as a process. The duration of this process varies according the type of concern, its duration, intensity, the presence of additional life stressors, efforts by the client, as well as the types of coping skills that a person has employed to manage the concern. Whilst not guaranteed, brief forms of therapy average between 4 to 10 sessions.
